its amazing what a functioning boost controller does!

#1 Post by camaroman9 » Sun Nov 18, 2012 11:53 pm

We went and tested today at mokan after fighting controller issues for th past couple races. Msd ended up warranting the repairs to my old one and sent me a brand new one. We went a 5.67@132 off the trailer with a 1.46 60 foot, and eventually made it down to a 5.56@133 and an 8.49@168 on our last pass. I have a couple gopro videos I will post as soon as I get them edited, but here is a cell phone video one of my crew guys took.

Congratulations Robert - great to see you made some good progress for sure.

When I saw this on FB last night I was wondering how fun it was getting it stopped when you ran it out the back door? It's running some real good MPH for sure. You don't have a chute on it yet do you?

Not yet, but it is definitely on the purchase list for next year. It wasn't very fun at all btw. When I ran it to 1000 foot on the pass before, it was at 152, so I thought "that wasn't too bad trying to get stopped". 320 less feet and an additional 16 mph turned out to be a little more serious to try and get stopped.

I bet it wasn't fun. I screwed up when we were there last time and ran it a little too deep and heard the tires chirping going over the bumps trying to shut down, I can't imagine trying to get it shut down going in THAT far with no chute!

Yeah better put one of those on the Christmas list, or a pair of them if you keep wanting to run it out the back!

They are fun, but if all the supporting components aren't working properly, it will make your life a living hell. Lol

I got the gopro videos edited on the laptop last night. I transfered them to my phone so I could upload them to YouTube, but the files were too large to upload without WiFi. I will see if I can figure out a way to get them uploaded today.

Welp, we did it again yesterday. We went a 5.35@135. The car has came a long way in just a couple weeks. We are really excited about next year now. Here is a link to the video, but its a cell phone video, so the quality isn't too great.

Good job Beez. Looks like I'm going to have to put the bottle on for next season. :-P
