Ok, I'm back, Ray you can take a break. Sorry, I didn't get a notice to these replies.

Yes to the extensions and notched floats. The carb is rated at 849 cfm.

Converter is a PTC 8" and I was told it was 5-5500 stall.

Pinion angle, if I recall correctly, it was at 1*.

Shifting was the "big" problem. I was told to shift it at 6000 rpm, when I questioned the builder on raising the shift point at testing, he said no, leave it at 6000. Ray requested that I put in a 6800 pill so that by the time I react, realistically, the rpm's may be closer to 7000. We are using a 7800 pill on the high side.

Plugs, they looked good on the heat range but my coworker saw a small thin ring on the porcelain but because of a few other issues going on we let them be. I was told it could clear up when I raise my rpm's up?

Slicks are older but the sidewalls are good and they didn't have a lot or runs on them when I got them. I ran 10 psi in them.
I also got taller front tires.

I honestly think, with the new gears, the new shift point, the looser from end, will help a lot. One issue that was also improved on is the brakes. I could not get the car to do a proper burnout. After looking over things, I found I had the proportioning valve adjusted wrong, since I adjusted it, the brakes feel so much better and I also installed a new line lock.

As for the gas line size, I'm still not 100% that I need 1/2" line. I looked into this and was told that 3/8" should easily handle 700hp and there is no way my motor is putting out that much, even with the small amount of spray, I'm only looking at 625/650hp.

I do have two Holley blue pumps, one for motor and one for spray. The one for the motor is set at 6.5 lbs and at the end of the run, it dropped to 6.0 lbs. The one for the spray will be set at 5.5 lbs.

Yeah shifting at 6000 you probably weren't in first gear very long

Here is some info on the fuel can test, it's an easy basically free thing to check.

In other news, my new slicks have held air for three weeks now. All the other slicks I've owned would go flat in a couple days...guess I should've scrapped up the money for new ones a long time ago.

My old goodyears went flat every week. Things still worked great after 4 years sitting on the car. Last weekend on the car they went between 1.26 and 1.28 in 60'. When you mount the slicks, coat the inside with dish soap and it fills in the pores in the rubber to help agains t leakage.

Mine held air from day one until the day I had to install steel valve stems and once filled up again, they are still holding air.

The guy I got them from told me he coated the inside with dish soap.

Rumor has it that Bruce has hired a professional driver to try to get the car down the track for its first runs.

That's right but he turned me down because of the potential power that my car is going to unleash at the track.

So I guess I'll have to drive but if you're nice, I'll let you drive it, so bring your helmet, jacket and extra pair of undies.....LOL

Is it going to take that long to get to the finish line that I won't be able to make to the bathroom?

Did you get it out this weekend?

No not this weekend, we're going up early in Oct.
If I can hit mid 11's on motor, I'll be happy, anything lower than that is a bonus.
I haven't decided yet if I want to fill the bottle and take that along, I want to get the most out of the motor first, but I don't think there is a lot to be had out of this motor, even though I was told it could hit high 10's which I'm learning was pure bull, unless maybe the motor was in a 2000lbs car and that's still doubtful....

I have to agree, I don't think we'll hit the high 10's on motor. I don't think the converter is loose enough N/A to help it leave with the powerglide. Ultimately if it was motor only, say at 123 mph for high tens, I would put more gear in it to get it moving. I would bet this thing could benefit from like a 5.38 gear and cross at 7200 rpm. But considering he wanted to run nitrous for 10.0's the 4.86 was the gear to get there factoring converter slip it should cross just over 7000.

I also would be happy if we saw quicker than 11.50. That would be a big gain over last time out. And that would be impressive considering that all changes were made with minimal amount of cost. The major cost was the gears.

I will say this, I have not been behind the seat of a car for some time, so this is why Ray will make a pass or two and then depending on his times, that will tell me how far off I am, unless for some unforeseen miracle, I was able to run quicker than Ray....which I doubt would happen, but you never know?
Like I said, I'm hoping for mid 11's on motor and then will use the bottle to get me to low 10's.

It's true. I'm going to drive on October 4th. But my main goal is helping Bruce get the car down the track himself. It's a lot to take in and deal with on a new car.

Time for an update.

We had a great day at Beaver Springs. This track may not be a Cecil County or Maple Grove or ATCO but it is just a great track. It's fun, the staff is friendly, even the track owner, Bob takes time to talk with you and the area is beautiful, up in the mountains.
The air temp was in the high 40's when we got there but ended up in the high 50's. That's why Ray couldn't make it, he said his toes would get to cold....LOL
Anyhow, I got my best times this Sunday. 11.40 on motor and my wife thinks it was at 117.0. The ticket didn't print out so I have nothing to work off of, but anyhow it was getting late, I had in 6 runs so we hooked up a small shot of NOS and first time out, the switch didn't make, second time out, the switch again didn't make, third time out, the switch made, but on and off and on again and I got a 11.1 run. Simple setup, maybe 100hp, 57 NOS/ 47 fuel, fuel pressure at 5.5.
Car launched the best with the bottle, and I had my best 60' of 1.61, which is a big problem all day long. No matter what I tried, 1.7's and high 1.6's.
Going to look into a brake to help solve this or possibly a T-350.
Anyhow, everything that Ray did worked great and improved the car, now it's time to tweak things to make it get into the 10's, which I believe it would have if the switch would have been working right. I take the blame for the switch, because it was a homemade microswitch bracket and if I would have spent $24 from Pro Systems for one, I could have had my 10's yesterday.
But it was a great day at Beaver and the weather was perfect.
