Made it to the 4.70's
First time out this season we got the Nova into the 4.70's on the 7th pass, good enough to win the Drag Radial race at Ozark Raceway Park and broke the track record for Drag Radial. Chris and I are pretty pumped, the 1st 3 passes weren't so hot but we finally got it working on the 4th qualifier.
This was the final round, it went a 4.78@150.2 for the win.

The Nova probably isn't a good car for her to get her feet wet with. Not to mention she can't reach the pedals, I'd like for us to get a street car sometime for her to make some passes in, I know she'd love it.

I believe that one was a 1.19 which could be better, 330 was like a 3.15 I think. Since then we're ran a much more aggressive tuneup at launch with the transmission fried it went a 4.84@149. I can't wait to get a fresh trans in it that shifts correctly.

Re: Made it to the 4.70's
For now anyway... A friend loaned me his 1.59 glide and I'm sending mine in to get fixed. I am seriously thinking about a 2spd 400 sometime down the road.

For what is was going to cost to buy the 1.58 gearset and selling my glide it was the same money for a 2spd 400. I say go for it and never look back

Congrats and nice job john, I would have to agree with silvanova, 2speed 400 seems to be the way to go.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.
Re: Made it to the 4.70's

Haha, I don't think you will ever see me on the show.
Just got the transmission back in, hopefully we got the problems fixed, racing this weekend at Kansas International Dragway in Wichita.

John, what's the difference between a P/G and a 2 spd 400, more strength?
