Geezo, that just sucks. :( I've never seen the head of a valve wedge itself between the piston and cylinder wall before - man, what are the odds ?

Do you plans around rebuilding, and if so, what direction do you want to go ? If you have any interest in a 'mild' blown street motor, let me know. It's not a cheap solution but it does have it's rewards. I have not yet started the rebuild of my original 427 blower motor - it's all sitting on the shelf, ready to go. As soon as I get time I'll start the rebuild and put it on the market. BBC 427, Eagle 4340 crank with 4340 h-beams, forged blower pistons, Dart Pro-1 310 heads, Weiand 671 with 2 x 4150 hp 750 cfm carbs, blah blah blah... If you want, we can give your hotrod a whole new personality :)

Scored this weekend. Traded my carb and intake for this...

454 block with 4 bolt mains. Block has a 30 over bore, but I'm not complaining.

It's not that bad, lol. I'll prolly list the new motor for 12-ish or so, air-cleaner to starter... Thats not bad for a complete new blower build with all the good parts. I have a good hard-core converter and a TH400 I could rebuild for another couple thou...

Its prolly more than you want to spend, but just think of the raw grunt available with a blower build like this :)

That would definitely turn some heads.
Wonder if they make a cowl hood tall enough to fit over the huffer.....LOL

Ok, time for an update.
Ray hooked me up with the following parts for my new build.
Eagle 6.385" H beam rods, L19 bolts, Eagle 4340 4.25" crank.

The block should be coming home today from the machine shop. I'm having them check the block out and make sure it's good to use. It should be but after the last block, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Next for the block, it goes to Ray's to be deburred.
I also got working on removing some weight off of the car. Here a picture of the radiator support that I made out of 1" tubing.
After mocking it all up, I took a weight and it was 7.4 lbs., the factory support weighed 15.0 lbs.

That's it for now.
