New best

#1 Post by amature » Tue Aug 02, 2005 11:58 am

Car ran a new best last friday.

60' 1.3441
1/4 8.889 @ 155.14

I was pulling timing off the launch because of a slippery track. The car still was over rotating the tires a bit on the launch. A couple weeks ago it was pulling the front up on just the motor. On friday it had a hard time launching either motor or nitrous. Track just wasn't prepped well.

Through the run, I could watch my AFR going from 12.5 down to 12.1. After getting back to the pits, we swapped bottles. The bottle that I made the pass on had nothing left!

A best ever on a slippery track and a diminishing bottle! I'm pretty happy with it's performance. :)

Here is a vid of the run:

You can see how much the tires slip.

Announcer said 092 for my reaction time. Wife thought he said 9.92 for the pass... pfff...

Yeah I'd say they are slipping a bit, get her hooked better bet you see some 1.30's out of her.

I really like to see that your wife is out on the starting line with ya filming! That's cool..

What exhaust do you have on it?

It's a 3.5" with x-pipe going through Borla XR-1s.

Went out last night. The AHRA "World Finals" is going on this weekend (yeah, I know... our track is the only AHRA track left and it is pretty dorky, but there is some good prize money to be made).

We are trying something new this weekend, turn the nitrous on for a few seconds then back off using a throttle stop timer. I'm using it on the launch then having it on for 6 seconds. Car ran 8.95 & 8.97 doing this at 148mph!

My first round of eliminations, I got one of the better racers in town. He was dialed 8.75 to my 8.94. I treed him and let off at about the first set of lights. Damn car ran an 8.913 @ 141!!! Grrrr....

Car is running faster than it did last year... and I'm shutting the nitrous off just past half track and lifting!!

Still pissed about it. It shouldn't have done that. He didn't run his number either. I totally had him covered. Oh well, guess I'll have to be more watchful of the other guy.
