Kinda what I was thinking. You can't make copper lighter, reduce the amount of copper, you reduce the gauge. The outer covering is a good bit less weight than the conductor, so how is it lighter?

Good question - I'd bet you're right it's probably the copper clad aluminum.

I tried to call them a little earlier, but didn't get an answer. Will try again next week.

Definitely showing some decent progress now. Most of the major mechanical pieces are in place, plenty of small detail items to attend to.

I have a basic rear suspension setup thanks to Mike from TRZ. I also spoke with Eric at Afco on a couple things and have decided to send the front shocks back for some upgraded valving. By our conversation, I think the changes will make a big difference in calming the front end down and allowing me to remove the wheelie bars.

Once I get the front shocks back, I'll put the car on the ground in an attempt to get the car out for carpet installation.

Need to also get the rest of the sheetmetal parts back so I can get the body put together.

Looks friggin' awesome Todd, I am pretty darn sure I haven't seen a cleaner shootout car. You have definitely set a new standard that others will be judged by.

What did you end up using on the inside of the tank to hold the nuts?

I just reached in with two fingers and bolted it with 1/4-20 poly lock nuts.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I doubt the car will be a whole lot faster than before, what ever the weight loss is worth. I'd be happy with 2 tenths, but we'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

Holeshot Sun Star

Mickey Thompson ET Drag

I also have a third set of brand new M/T ET Drag, but in 15 x 12 I picked up to cut down to 10" and beadlock.

Front wheels will be existing M/T ET Drag.
