pro stock wing on nova's

#1 Post by 427belair » Wed Sep 12, 2007 5:40 pm

Im looking for ideas to build a wing for my nova. Im really having troubles figureing out the contures of the rear deck and would love to see pics if some one has them. I have access to sheet metal tools and dont want to spend the money for an Ed Quay wing.

Thanks Jason

when I worked at the bodyshop we did mock ups using posterboard or big sheets of cardboard ( dryer boxes or refridgerator boxes) place register points on the deck lid with a magic marker so if you take it off you have something to realign it to and get some real good 3" masking tape ( 3m or scotch brand ) we would mock the spill plates first then the wing surface then transfer your design to the sheetmetal atleast with the posterboard you can tweek it to your liking before laying it out and cutting the metal .
100% Pure Pontiac well all except for the rearend. its a Ferd .

I ended up using a 14" peice of .092 aluminum and I anealed it to form around the contures and some struts from the hardware store.

Not right now. I have the wing off the car because some dumb ass (ME) didnt tighten the front tie down and the car rolled back into the trailer door, smashing the wing.
