Yep, still looking at options. Someone brought up Jegs 310's, which are supposedly Canfields, and I pulled the flow data down from Jegs and fed it to DynoSim. Dunno if I want to go this route (there are many many different options out there) but just check out the difference in HP & TQ compared to my old stock 990's. Yee HAW !

Note that this is all with my current build (cam, pistons, etc., the only diff being boost changes).

The top chart shows my current 990's & boost @ 8psi: 612/562 (HP/TQ)
The 2nd chart shows my current 990's & boost @ 10psi: 643/605
The 3rd chart shows the Jegs 310 heads & boost @ 10psi: 785/655

Quite a large jump in output. Of course, the 785 HP is at 7500 rpm and I'll never turn this motor that high and I know that DynoSim can only approximate the generated HP & TQ. Still, I expect I'd see very large increases in output with heads similar to these. Geez louise !

I'm with John on this one, all I used was some 1/2" wide aluminum too, I think I got 4 oz. of aluminum there!
Here's a picture of mine.

Real old photo from 2005 - it doesn't take much to hold one in there.

Ok, it's made out of aluminum now. The cover is just like the steel was just made out of aluminum. I couldn't do the strap thing didn't look right to me.

The stock radiator normally sits *behind * the core support, right ?

Yeah, the only thing you gotta watch out for with not having a full piece of metal across the top of the rad/core suppport is that you will get alot of air escaping out the top instead of being pushed through the radiator. If you have issues cooling, this will just make it worse...I learned the hard way :)

John...your also missing some fender wells there buddy! :)

Lets not push things here. John seems to have a problem with keeping body panels and sheet metal on his car at speed - lets not make things any harder for him :smt003 :smt003
