I think mine is 3/16th thick. The 59 has a lot of curve to the windshield. We just started in the middle screwing it down into countersunk holes in the Lexan, working out to the corners. It took shape very well.
We did the same with the 05 vette rear window I think we had 75 screws in it.

I got my windshield fit pretty good but didnt screw it in yet. Ill post some pics when I take some. The material I got is call "Tuffak" from Altuglas International they are out of Philadelphia I bought it from our supplier not direct but heres their # 215-419-7000. I did my 2 doors and windshield for about $120 and my windows are big the doors are 54" long at the bottom and the windshield is about 65" along the cowl and almost 40" to the roof.

Heres some pics I dont know if you can see the curve but its not even screwed in yet.The piece was rolled up so it had a "natural" curve when I cut it I used an air saw then sanded the edges with some 40 and 80 grit paper on a block.

I saw a car with dzus buttons holding the plexi glass in.
1. i thought the idea was to take weight off the car?
2. do you really need to take the window in and out that much?
3. was it just a im cool factor?

I have been thinking about going to all plexi glass front rear and side windows for our 68 firebird and wondered if buying the window kit from like harwood for around 450 dollars was worth it or to go buy some plastic from a local shop and cutting it all myself would be that much cheaper? Anyone have any sugjestions?

I'm going to do my own out of a lexan sheet for the sides and rear window. Not certain about the front yet.

Sc hey front looks good thanks for the number of the supplier. What is the thickness and how long? Is it 4X8 or something?

I have done all my windows in lexan, all are 1/8"
used number 8 1" long sheet metal screwes
rubber robe crap that is facory type stuff under neath and painted a boarder around front and my big back windows for looks
it is easy to do, but yes when cleaning only go in one direction, not up down, back and forth, whatever you do only one direction

I got 3/16" I wasnt sure about the 1/8" but I wish I got that instead ( need to drop all the weight I can ). I think it was 40"x72" came rolled up in a box so it was UPS'able.
