Hi guys,
Has anyone here mounted an Aero Scoop like a Harwood, to a carb plate so that it is independent from the hood.
In other words you can remove the hood but the scoop stays in place.
I'm just not sure that the carb plate adapter will have the strength to hold it while racing.

Any tips appreciated

You might consider triming the hood so that the lower flange on the scoop fits under the hood, providing some extra strength.
Re: Aero Scoop Mount
Thanks HPD, I have already completed that portion of the fit. Still just concerned with the ability of it holding on at 150mph. Dicky
Re: Aero Scoop Mount
we used the scoop tray and carb mount and then used aluminium flat stock strips from the sides to the mounts for the valve covers double nutted them so we could take the scoop off without messing with the valve covers and also to spin the flat stock out of the way if needed to access the valves . it wasnt my car it was a friends I helped with. It seemed to work well and really made the scoop stiff as hell. I dont think relieing on the hood for some support when the scoop is actually connected to the engine will work all that well, Just thinking of torque over at launch etc. By the way Hi Im new to the board and look forward to learning alot from you guys on here .

hey Dicky, here is a link from ART that shows the actual set up for the scoop tie down. Like I said earlier we just used aluminum flat strap. we are budget racers and im a class a beginner but this set up is a class act and may be just the ticket for what you are loking for. check it out

Re: Aero Scoop Mount
Guys, I used the CSR mount as noted in the first post.
the ART mount is a POS in comparison, as I have used that before.
The CRS mount works perfect @ 160 MPH.
