generator

#1 Post by kyleracer » Sat Feb 02, 2008 2:34 pm

A guy I work with has a generator that worked fine at the end of last season and he fired it up last night and it did not work. He was told by a repair shop that sometimes you can just need to excite or charge the generator to make it work again but he would not tell him how to do it. He wanted to charge $200 to fix it for him. Is he being scamed ? Anybody ever have this happen or know how to do it ? Thanks- :?

Thanks for the info. I thought there was a simple way. Would have been an easy $200 for the repair guy !! I will let him know to try the drill idea !
