Another Plate

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of spraying a little to get me to index and been doing a little research and came across this system. Has anyone got any experience with it? Looks like a neat idea but I'm too much of a newb to N2O that I don't know.
Thanks,
Keith

The video I saw of that thing spraying I wouldn't give you 20 bucks for it, very poor distribution. Highly recommend you pass on that one.

I've also seen that video, and the 2 holes that are side opposite of nitrous entrance receives what looks like 75% of the nitrous, and the front two split the remaining.

Thanks!! You guys are the experts so I'll keep researching. What do you guy's recommend for a dominator but only needing about .3? The chassis is only certified to 8.50 and I think I can get to about 8.70's on the motor but that's gonna be pretty much maxed out.
Thanks,
Keith

Thanks everyone, being mainly a bracket racer I'm just looking to get a little more when I need it for the faster heads up races that come along once and a while. How much and what kind of a kit would you recommend to drop .3-.5 from 8.70-9.00 et's?

In my opinion, it's hard to beat a simple single bar big shot plate or something similar for 300 hp shots and less. It's low cost, efficient and will work great on smaller shot sizes.

The double cross designs are very good also but are intended for larger shot sizes, multiple stage setups, etc. Because they're designed for larger shot sizes, problems can occur when you try to spray too small of a jet on them. Distribution improves with the double cross plates also - I've never tried one, but I would bet that edelbrock double cross that feeds from both ends would probably be the best at a double cross design.

Then you get into the newer design plates like the Speedtech, the Highpower Spider, etc. I've heard good things aobut the speedtech, never tried one myself. Most of the fancier plates are working towards improving distribution, however the highpower design is trying to decrease reversion and do something different with the atomization by keeping the nozzles separate. I've tested the Highpower and so far on a small shot I can tell you it's pretty close to what I was getting from a single bar big shot plate. I don't expect to see a big improvement from it until we're spraying it with large volumes.

For picking up .3 to .5 on your setup I'd sugguest getting a simple single bar plate and start with that.

Hey John,
Speedtech is having some problems with splitting there plates wide open. One of the big engine builders in town has been testing them and has found the plates are not holding up to high bottle pressures.
I think I would stick with the old standard spray bar type stuff for now. I haven't used my new NX pro-power stuff yet. Was going to use the speedtech kit. I was told of the plate problems and steered away for the speedtech kit.

Good to know about the issue Speedtech is having, I hadn't heard about that problem...

My main hangup with NX is they don't use a standard jet size. That bugs me I wish they would use the same as NOS and everyone else. That and their tuneups seem weird on some of their plates...

I haven't taken my new NX kit out of the box yet. That good to know about the jets thing.
Could be a hassle.
Thanks

Thanks John, that's the kind of info I was looking for. Supernova, I did look into NX along with several others and that's why I'm here, so many choices but I figured you guy's would point me in the right direction. Thanks for the help, any idea how much start with to get 3 tenths or so?

It's hard to guess how your combination will like the spray, I'd start with a 150 shot or so and see how it responds.
