Bluebaugh Racing’s Team Magna Fuel is in full swing with plans to step up on the competition in the second half of the season. Crew Chief Deborah Woodard said, we have been working on details to squeeze every bit of potential out of the Magna Fuel Monte Carlo and now we are taking a really big step. We have acquired a 780 cubic inch engine with four stages of nitrous.

The team is currently in process of fitting the new engine in the Magna Fuel Monte Carlo with the help of local sponsors Fast Forward and Highway 69 Racing Products. Testing will begin next week with barely time to spare before the team is due to compete in Bakersfield later this month.

Team mate and fellow Pro Street Rookie Joe Alsworth advanced funding for the new engine. Alsworth said, I am confident that Bluebaugh and everyone involved with Team Magna Fuel can do extremely well. It seemed like the right time for this to occur. Bluebaugh and the team will sell off the Fulton 728 engine currently powering the Magna Fuel Monte Carlo to help curve the cost of the new engine venture as Alsworth continues to refine his skill.

Bluebaugh said, our plan for the future is to have a two car team equally competitive in the class. For now, we have a big job ahead of us to catch this new combination. It is a risky step to change the old proven combination mid-season. We had just started to put the 728 in the 40’s running a best of 6.42 at the last Bakersfield event and we have run to the finals in the last three events. We are however, ready to step up. Woodard agreed that we have all been hopeful for such an opportunity to present itself. We have spent years refining our knowledge and now its time to put that knowledge to the test. We will concentrate this summer on testing and refinement, just in time to head into the second half of season, finals, and the Street Car Super Nationals with some seasoning.

Bluebaugh Racing would like to thank Magna Fuel for being our title sponsor this year. Fans can catch our latest interview in the archives at www.speedsceneracing.com which aired on June 30th. Our Sponsor JE Pistons is running a bounty on the competition. JE is passing out up to $100 for any racer to trade in their old brand and switch to a high quality JE Piston. See details at http://www.jepistons.com/wanted/ Thanks to Mickey Thompson Tires we are going to be able to put all the power to the ground with our new engine. As we have always said, Our M/T Tires are the best at putting high horse power to the ground. Special thanks to Friction Unlimited. Our clutch is ready to go! Thanks to Fast Forward in Phoenix for our awesome headers. The company compares to the best and beats the competitor’s price by far. Thanks to Highway 69 Racing Products for being a sponsor and joining our crew. Special Thanks to SI Valves for helping us out as we move forward. If you need large diesel truck repair stop by your local W.W. Williams service center and make sure to stop by our pit for cool give ways.
