Marty, I'm planning on buying this converter from a buddy of mine for my Ford C6. It's a bolt together that you made for him some years back. I had him send me a picture of the stamped info on it so you could tell me about it before I buy it to make sure it will be close for what I need.

9.5" bolt together built 5/17/06 for an F2 procharged lightning with a 370ci motor
what did you want to put it in?

Marty, I have a ford lightning also but a totally different setup. I have a N/A 438" small block. I'm not sure of the motors horsepower but the truck weighs 3560 with me in it and has gone 9.88@135. with a best 60' of 1.32. The current converter is an Art Carr 9.5" spragless converter. It will trans break with no two step to 5800. The converter I have seems to work pretty well but I think I'm leaving some on the table up stairs with it being spragless.
Does that converter in the picture have a sprag (diode) in it? and if so is it one of your "extreme duty mechanical diodes" or a regular diode?

that converter is too tight for your n/a motor.
it has the regular 5 strut diode
If it is cheap enough i can redesign it for you, but you would have about $500 in changing it. Now if you want to throw some nitrous on it , then it would work pretty good for you

What do you estimate it will stall to the way it is N/A? I have considered spraying it down the road but what amount of nitrous are you thinking it would be right for?

N/A the converter will stall about 3800 to 4200 with your 4" stroke motor. As for the amount of nitrous the more the better as this is a very tight converter for your combo.

Would it effect you stall estimate that the stroke is 4.100"? The motor is 4.100 stroke 4.125 bore.
Also what did you estimate it would stall behind that procharged motor it was designed for?

it may stall slightly higher with the longer stroke.
