Re: Calvert Wheelie Bar?
Trevor Stripling has a three legger on his Camaro in your area?
I'd bet this deal from Calvert is aimed at Super Stock / Stock classes mostly. Still it's kinda weird...

Yeah, but only for this year. No wheelie bars allowed next year in the Tex-275 class. Thats the only small tire class that they'er allowed.

Nice vid.. I've been watching some of those from your area. A bunch of your fellow Texan's are coming up to Tulsa later this month. Should have 30 plus cars at the OTT5 race.

That would be cool, we'll be there spectating...
Back to the wheelie bar - that's certainly a unique way to do it. Wonder if there's a vid of it in action somewhere?

Call Trever and ask him if he has any video. I don't know if his are the same as Calverts though. He might be able to set you up with something like his.......John_Heard wrote:That would be cool, we'll be there spectating...

Done been there.. Trevors is mounted top half to the car back by the parachute mount, bottom is in traditional location.
Last trip to the chassis shop we put the mounts on my car. Haven't built the bar itself yet though. Just for testing only, they aren't legal to use in our class.

Ok, I see how it works, but I don't get it. Whats the advantage to this approach ? It just appears to be another way to skin the cat...

Re: Calvert Wheelie Bar?
Not real sure... But it is different.
Weight looks heavier. Maybe it don't upset the car as much???

Re: Calvert Wheelie Bar?
Being from Calvert it only makes good sense to be for leafspring type set ups...... Just a thought....

Re: Calvert Wheelie Bar?
Yeah, I'd assume that's the case, no real good other reason to go through all that unless you're working with leafs. But it does seem a bit "extra" - the one Trevor has is pretty simple and seems to work.
