What is wrong with my luanch???????
Hello everyone and happy new year!!! Need help with my luanch. Trying to figure out many things with evil to get her tuned in. This is one of the videos of me racing my bud. Had 12 pounds of pressure in the rear tires, leaving on trans brake at 4200. I am thinking that my front shocks were set too soft. What does everyone else think?

What shocks and springs do you have in front and rear of your car? To me, it looks like your rear shocks, or springs, or both, are too stiff. jmo.

Won't hurt to try tightening the front extension a little to slow it down some.

Front springs are moroso trick springs with summit adjustable drag shocks. Rear are calvert split mom leaf with monroe shock which are 50/50 setting.

mono leaf
Re: What is wrong with my luanch???????
if you push down on rear of car how stiff is it?
Re: What is wrong with my luanch???????
Rob (CHP) turned me on to a trick with the Camaro / Nova front upper A-arms - get a couple of 5/8" to 3/4" nuts and a bolt - install the bolt vertically through the hole in the upper a-arm, bolt head down with a nut below and above the A-arm plate. Adjust the bolt length up and down to help limit the amount of lift in the front to keep the front separation down where it should be. As the front end lifts, the A-arms drop with the suspension. The bolt head will contact the frame pad and will stop the free lift. As I understand it, you want to limit your lift of front to no more that 3" to 3 1/2" of travel. This made quite a difference for me.
Dunno if it'll help you, but it's cheap to try.

I just want to say that I'm know chassis expert but there was one thing that stood out to me and it was the Summit brand shocks. I was told not to waste money on them and the advice I got was to buy a set of Calvert shocks until I could afford a set of QA-1's, Strange or AFCO's.Necessary Evil wrote:Front springs are moroso trick springs with summit adjustable drag shocks. A buddy from S&W said your better off buying a cheap pair of shocks from Autozone then you are buying those Summit brand shocks.
There is a posting in the chassis section about front shocks that has some good advice from both Dave Morgan and John Heard.
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........
