Hey everybody thanks for the concern.
It was a bad day for some of the area but it didn't come my way. I live on the north side of town and all the bad weather stayed on th south side. Something like 12 tornado's touched down in about a 100 mile path and just wreaked havoc. I'm glad I didn't get any of it but man I feel sorry for those who did.......

Every thing is ok here!!!!!!!!

Back in 2000, my family and I were living in Irving, TX (DFW area) and were contemplating whether or not we wanted to stay in that part of the country. That question was answered one nite in late March when a cluster of tornados touched down all around the Dallas / Ft Worth metro area - I recall walking out my front door that night, with the power out all around us, hearing tornado sirens start up on all four sides of us. There is a peculiar feeling to the air and the atmosphere when you're in a tornado warning state like that - the clouds hang low and heavy and the air has this 'feel' and sound to it - sort of a thick deadened quiet. This occurred at night - there was zero wind where we were, with no rain and nothing but pitch black darkness with all those sirens starting up. It was spooky and made the hair on the back of your neck stand up.

After it was all over we were all intact but a cluster of funnel clouds had touched down and went through downtown Ft. Worth, about 18 miles west of us, taking the glass out of most of the high rise buildings there - remember that Chris ? This was in late March 2000. We drove through the area shortly afterwards and it looked like downtown Beirut - paper and glass and office furnishings on the road, in the trees, and lots and lots of black empty windows in all the buildings.

That pretty much decided things for us - we ended up moving back to California after that. The power in a tornado is unbelievable.
