Ok it's that time again...

#1 Post by Bruce69Camaro » Fri Nov 15, 2013 5:40 am

It's that time again when winter is upon us, well most of us that is...Harry!, but what are the winter plans and what's on the Christmas list for this year?

My list is increasing thanks to a newbie on this site....but I'm looking at some new gears, 4.86's, a new line lock solenoid, a harden input shaft and a few small little extras like a Holley jet pack kit and some MSD pills.

Hopefully the newbie will not find anything else to make me spend more money, because I need a trailer!
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

My to-do list is probably longer than my list for Santa. So that's a good thing.

I do hope to finish up the paint on the rest of the car this winter.

I am trying to get ready to hit the track tomorrow for a little bit of test-n-tune time. :thumb:

My local track stays open year round, though the activity greatly decreases over the winter. They normally try and stage an event of some sort on New Years Day, so I have that to look forward to.

Sorry for all you guys who have to hunker down over the winter :smt003

Music City Raceway tries to open in Feb but they rarely get the weather to actually race.

Good luck Harry.

yeppers - I just want to bring the ride back with all the parts in the same relative positive it goes down with....

in other words, I don't want to achieve any sort of spontaneous disassembly, know what I mean ?

Let's see, I plan on finishing up this rusty GTO for a guy that he probably will have to give me for the labor, lol... Then I want to pull the avatar truck in and see if it needs anything. (Did not race this year due to work and 2 in college, but one finishes this year. Yay!) Then I have full size stepside bed from an early 80's Ford that I want to cut down and graft onto my 1989 Nissan that I just finished up the fuel injected chevy v8 conversion. Lastly, I have another step side LUV (street truck) that I have the long block patiently waiting to assemble, and the 8.8 rear to make ready for it as well...
Trucks are for haulin...

I'm hoping to get closer with my new engine, still need valve train stuff. My car has been on jack stands for 21 months, I'm sure that's gonna create a whole new list.

Craig, I've got to get 450 offset shaft rockers for AFR 245s, pushrods and so on.

I see. Don't have any spare stuff along those lines.

Any port work done the heads? I wonder how good they can be in the right hands?

I'm gonna run them out of the box for now and see what happens. My last 434 had brodix 227s and ran pretty good, may of had a little more in it. I'm excited to see how this new combo works, in a couple months if all goes well.
