Keep tuning?
Wondering if I should keep tweaking my suspension or if this is pretty good for what I got?
I don't have a ton of dough in my setup. Cal-Tracs w/ their split monos. 3-way shocks back and front, 90/10s in the toolbox.
I tried 90/10s on the front and that was no good, it would pop the front up and when the front ran out of travel the rear tires spun. I put my 3 ways back on the front with the softest extension setting and it seems to hook well...but I'm wondering if I should try to tighten them more? Going up is not going forward right I would like to get the front to settle down for the rest of the trip down the track as well - maybe the only way to accomplish that is with limiters?

An adjustable front travel limiter is always good to have. Tighten it down until the 60' falls off and leave it there. Any travel beyond what the car needs, does nothing but stick the nose up in the wind and screw with the front end alignment. I have used them in my car forever. Also, stiffen the front shock as much as you can as well. A 90/10 for example, is very soft on extension for travel, however the downside is the compression is very slow on them and it tends to keep the nose up longer. If 80/20, or even 70/30 works, it will get the nose down quicker.

Does look like it might like slowing the front down a bit.
If you're building a limiter, try to design something that hits softer vs a hard bolt stop. Cable with rubber mount, or something would be nice.

My thoughts exactly John...I've always been leery of limiters. But, I'm thinking if I weld a door spring to the end of a bolt???

A cable would be a softer hit than a bolt through the top of the a-arm, I think a spring would be a bit too soft and probably kill it quick. Something like a rubber shock bushing where it attaches perhaps?

I think s&w race cars has a setup with a rubber bumper. I think that's where mine are from.

John - I'm using the old upside down 3/4" bolt trick in my upper a-arms. I would guess they come to a hard stop when I launch - I don't know that it has ever hurt me but I've thought about it. Shock the system, causing the rear tires to unload. At least that's what I figure.

Lots of cars use a hard bolt, including mine. Personally I'd like to use something that hits a bit softer, not sure if it would make much difference or not.

Saw this type of limiter last weekend. Looks to me like a person could make some variation on this to allow a softer hit. Not sure it's really necessary though, I think almost all cars are using a solid connection. Some use chain, cables or bolts though.
