I decided to spend a little money on something else, other than motor parts.
My front grill cracked a mounting tab off, so I decided to do what I've been wanting to do for a long time.
I put on the RS grill.

I took some black Lexan and liquid welded them to the grill, then got hideaway door decals from 1320 Media.
Just need to get the grill molding yet and put the front spoiler back on, and this project is done.
Nice thing is, it's lighter than the stock grill/headlight setup.
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

Thanks John.
He does some nice work.
He did a bowtie emblem for me on my standard grill and you couldn't tell from a distance that it was a decal.
Really only way you could tell was that it was flat.

Wow, that looks awesome !!!! Mine has the RS body styling but the window louvers and grill and other stuff are out of whack enough that it bugs me everytime I look at it. But your setup is super clean and square. Looks really good :)

Hows motor work coming ?

The motor, well lets see.
The engine guru, is massaging the pistons right now.
Next thing in line is to come up with the money to get the block work done, and to buy the cam and heads.
I figure if I save $0.50 a week for life, it will get done sometime after I die....LOL

Yeah, you just gotta keep after it - a piece at a time. What are you thinking about for compression, and what sort of build are you thinking about ?

Mine is still hanging on the engine stand at the shop - work is keeping me too busy to spare time out to finish it up for the moment, but I'll eventually get back to it. There's not a lot left to do before dyno time - and to tell you the truth, I'm really sweating that lol !!!! I keep having these visions of this brand new motor turning into confetti at WOT on the dyno...

The pistons are from Mahle and are 48cc, so with the 117cc heads, he's thinking 13.7:1.
I requested that this motor runs 10.0 in hot air, and he said somewhere in the area of over 700HP but less than 750HP to get the job done.
So that is his goal and my goal is to get a much weight off of the car that I can.
The last time the car was weighed, with me in it, it was #3300 but then the guy said to me, I wouldn't trust this scale since it has not been calibrated in a long time. So we are just using that number as reference and any thing under that weight is a plus.

I'd be worried to about putting it on a Dyno. Those guys don't care, they are getting paid no matter if it runs or breaks....LOL

I would rather have it let go on the dyno than in the car.

If parts are going to fail, I would rather the rods land on the floor instead of driving over them at 150 mph. Its basically a preliminary stress test on the engine before it goes in the car.

I'm with you, Ray. I'm just stressing is all.... Standard behavior for Harry. I worry about everything and have to guess at a lot of stuff.

Ok, here's an update.

Rapid Ray from Rapid Racing has been busy as you can see.

Cam is in, degreed and end play set, timing cover and balancer are all on.

The short block will soon be in the near future.

I've been busy as well, I got the front end trim on, around the grill and repainted the rear tail panel in satin black.

That's it for now.
