Who runs one?
And who else thinks they are a pain to repack?

I just mounted ours today.

I thought it was hard as hell to repack.
Maybe thats just because it was my first time doing it.

Any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated.

We run a Stroud Parachute and I really would not run anything else. Being that its your first time... The most important thing when you are packing your chute is to just make sure the lines are not crossed. The chute can get turned inside out on itself, get twisted up and the lines tangled. This is the biggest threat to a chute failure. If your lines are straight going in, it is hard to mess it up from there. At the end of the track, I pull the chute in by the lines gathering the lines hand over hand folding them up in arms length sections. This has reduced the number of tangled line problems, which can create aggrivation. You will see some people roll them up in a ball. This has created tangling problems for me because when you unroll it, you can accidently pull the chute through the lines the wrong way.

Nick does make it look easy... It does get easier the more often you do it, you'll get better at it. It helps a bunch to have someone there to help pack it.

Lot easier the way Nick did it.

Hell, i might just have to pull the trailer forward and lower the back door just so i can practice.
That string that is used, thats about a foot and a half long, i didnt know thats what it was used for.
What i ended up doing was.. well nevermind. It was a PITA the way i did it lol.
The instructions that came with the chute were terrible IMO.

Im running a 10ft simpson skyjacker.

That string is REAL important - a spare in the toolbox is a great idea! In a pinch a shoelace will do also.

We haven't made any plans yet Adam but if we go I'll give a hand.

Isnt that string supposed to be attached while vehicle is in tow? Or in other words, sitting in or on a trailer that is being towed.
If so, how?

The string wouldn't hold the chute if the cable was accidentally pulled out. A pin like the one below would work.

A chute is a PIA to me anyway I would rather replace brakes and rotors....If you get in the later rounds there is just not enough time to pack it and get up there for the next round......

Oh i can imagine!
First time packing it was a PITA!
But now that i know a couple of things, next time should be alot smoother.
But still a pain..
Im sure i'll be alright. We'll see how it goes.

Parachute did pretty good this weekend.

On the first try of deploying it, it didnt deploy.
Didnt have enough throw in my handle to pull the wire all the way through the loop in the parachute.
Did some trimming to that metal wire that slides through the cable to release the chute, next round,
she deployed beautifully.

Took MAYBE 5 minute to re-pack after each trial.
Was just test and tune yesterday, grand opening of the track was today but its raining so we stayed home.
