Nova Start Up

#1 Post by John_Heard » Fri Jun 06, 2014 7:45 am

Frank's alive once again and ready to play. We missed the first race but looks like should be able to make our second one at Wichita end of June. The To-Do list is getting shorter and shorter!

Wow! Looks and sounds fantastic John. I can't believe it is the same car I started following years ago on your old website. I've not been around much the last couple of years on this site but I do check-in to see what you are up to with the car. Your car has certainly had an influence on how I've done things on my car. Good luck in Wichita. Can't wait to hear how it runs.

Great news John! I am as anxious as others to hear what she runs.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.

Thanks Guys - I'm excited to see how she runs too. I pulled the filter and changed the oil yesterday, not a spec of crap in the filter after warm up, so apparently I didn't do anything stupid. Did a compression test and I think two of them have already seated in, probably going to need a bit more time on the others but they are in the ball park. I think we're in better shape on cranking compression this time - cam events looking better.

We're going to try and go to a test and tune here soon and make some shake down motor passes, I want to get some O2 readings off the carb and see where it's at. Carb was built by our own Jmarkaudio / Mark Whitener @Racing Fuel Systems.

I think my car is too dark for that. If it were a lighter color I'd be all over that. I love vinyl tops!

Frank is short for Frankenstein..... a nickname I gave it when the current cubic inch engine was built. Godzilla might be more appropriate but, less personal.

Next you'll be telling him to put orange hockey stripes on it. Danged hockey players. Hope removing part of that colon brought out some sense of style that's been repressed.
