I need some information on drag slicks as what compond is best for my combo like stiff sidewall, what compound d1-d5 and what is roll out.
My car is only 94 inch wheel base and have not got up to speed on my knowledge for slicks as maybe i need to look at a diffrent tire for my car.
Thanks in advance

The rollout is how many inches the tire will roll in one revolution.Tire dia x 3.14. Rollout will differ from each set you get. You can get 3 or 4 sets of tires with the same part # and have different rollouts on each set.For example a 14x32 should have a rollout of 100.48" but Ive seen them anywhere from 99"-103". I talked to Goodyear about this a few years back when I was trying to get a set for a freind ,they told me " some guys want a tall 32 and some guys want a short 32" . I think the tires should each get their own part # but thats the way they do it.If you can find a good supplier they will send you a set as close as possible to the size you want. The rollout is written on each tire so they can match up pairs.

I don't mean this to be a blatant plug but I've had good service from Harlow Racing in Westland, Michigan. They helped me out on selecting tires for my weight, horsepower and chassis. Unfortunately I don't recall the name of the fellow I spoke with there but he's the main guy in their shop. I bought a set of new set of Centerline Warriors & Hoosier slicks, mounted & screw locked and had them shipped here to the house. They provided great advice and a good price on all of it. We talked about compounds and sidewalls, and what worked best for what application. They were very knowledgeable & helpful. I'll certainly go back to them again when needed. Here's their website:fishman wrote:Thanks for the reply is there somewhere i can read up on tire compound to see what suits my application the best............thanks
