Gonna step up from solid cam to bullet roller in my little 461 . would love to go with shaft rockers , but not in the budget. and my scorpion rockers are like new.
I figure with the roller cams .800" lift, I will need to use a stud girdle?
looking for some experiences with them, Looking at a Lunati multi piece and the Comp cams one piece girdles. What is the almost $100 difference in price. comps more$
Both seem like they will do the same job?
Heads are edelbrock 6055 performer Rpm rectangle port
THANKS!

Re: bbc stud girdles?
My $.02, sell the rockers and buy shaft mounts, especially with the needed RPM and spring pressure required to run a cam that big. I realize it is a chunk of change and it is easier to do if you are starting from scratch, but the vavle train stability is worth it. Most guys do not realize that if they compare the cost of shaft mounts to a good set of rockers, arp studs, and stud girdles, that there is not that much of a cost difference. Don't get me wrong, stud girdles do work, but I look at them as more of a crutch more then a true solution. I have T&Ds and I am very happy with them and have had zero valve train issues. I believe John and other have used the jesels with zero issues as well.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.

Look into Jomar stud girdles they are the grandfather of stud girdles.

I too have Jomars, like was mentioned above...if I was starting from scratch I would try to go shaft setup. But I wasn't, the Jomars are nice and reasonably priced.

Re: bbc stud girdles?
I agree that shaft rockers are the way to go. But I already have new Scorpion 1.8/1.75 ratio rockers and arp studs , good guide plates. And if I tried to sell them to offset the cost towards jesel shafts, I would not get much back?
So I will check into the Jomar girdles.
I see they have a light weight one? or should I stick with the traditional?

I have the pros...not sure how much weight would be saved - but it all adds up.

Re: bbc stud girdles?
I retired a set of pro magnums and a howards girdle and went with a jesel shaft system. So far no problems with the jesels and they've had some hard use at the track (and the street, for that matter ).
The jesels are so much easier to deal with. I'm pretty happy with them so far.
